Frequently Asked Questions

How long is my first appointment?

Your first appointment will last about an hour. You will get an initial examination, discuss your condition and whether chiropractic can help you. If so, you will receive a brief massage and appropriate treatment for your condition. Follow up appointments usually last about 30 minutes and consist of a brief massage followed by a chiropractic treatment.

Do I need an x-ray?

Not necessarily. If the doctor feels you do need to get an x-ray, it will be ordered for you at an outside facility.

What if I don’t have insurance?

For people with a high deductible or no insurance, our office offers a discount for paying at the time of service.

Does my insurance cover chiropractic?

You can call the number on the back of your insurance card. They will be able to tell you whether you have chiropractic coverage and any limitations, copays, coinsurance and deductibles.

Does chiropractic hurt?

No. Sometimes you may hear a “cracking” sound, depending on the technique used. This is usually completely painless and gives the patient some relief. The doctor will often find tender spots which may feel sore when touched, but when released, will feel better.

How many appointments will I need?

That is completely dependent upon your particular condition. The doctor can give you some idea once you have been evaluated. The length of treatment is dependent on the severity of the problem and how long you have had it, and other aggravating factors.
